Society of St Vincent de Paul

Mission

Our Mission is to seek and find those in need, to help them in a spirit of justice and to tackle the causes of poverty where we can.

Inspired by Christ's message to love our neighbour as ourselves, SSVP strives to reach out to and journey with individuals and families who are in any form of need, to have hope in life with a sense of dignity, worth, well-being and peace of mind.

The concept of need is broader than financial hardship, so visiting the sick, the lonely, the addicted, the imprisoned and those suffering from disabilities form a large proportion of our work.

Our Work

  1. We regularly conduct home visits, where we serve our Friends In Need (FINs)

  2.  We meet to review our work, evaluate new cases and plan for other initiatives in a spirit of prayer and mutual support

  3. We organise distribution of ration and cash aid to our FINs once a month

  4. We organise annual activities such as Christmas party and annual outings for our FINs
