All Saints Day

Saint Philip Romolo Neri (1515–1595)

"To preserve our cheerfulness amid sicknesses and troubles, is a sign of a right and good spirit.

❤️Known For

Known as the “Apostle of Rome” and the “Saint of Joy.” He founded the Congregation of the Oratory and is especially remembered for bringing people closer to God through friendship, humour, prayer, confession and practical charity.

👣An Ordinary Person Like Us

Philip’s holiness was expressed largely through ordinary human relationships. He talked with people in the streets, spent time with young people, listened to their problems, heard confessions, helped the poor and used humour to encourage others. He showed that becoming holy does not require being solemn or extraordinary, it can happen through ordinary encounters lived with love and joy.

🤲✨Values Exemplified

Joy, humility, charity and prayer. Pope John Paul II described these four qualities as the foundation of Philip Neri's spirituality. He was particularly famous for showing that genuine Christian faith should produce joy and hope, rather than gloom or self-importance.

🕯️📖Reflection on the Life of Saint Philip

Saint Philip Neri shows us that holiness can be lived through ordinary acts of kindness, friendship, prayer, and joy. His life reminds us that we can make a difference simply by bringing hope and happiness to the people around us.
