Easter Pastoral Message: From Fr Aloysius Ong

Alleluia! The Lord is risen! He is truly risen!
In this sacred season of Easter, we proclaim with joy and conviction that Jesus Christ, through His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, has conquered sin and death once and for all. The darkness of the tomb has given way to the light of new life. What seemed like defeat has become the greatest victory. In the Risen Christ, we are no longer bound by fear or despair, but are renewed in hope, restored in dignity, and called to live as a people redeemed.
This year, as we reflect on our parish theme, “Many Parts, One Body,” we see more clearly in the light of the Resurrection that we are united in Christ as one living Body. Each of us, with our unique gifts and callings, has a place and purpose in building up the Church. The Risen Lord gathers us not as isolated individuals, but as a community of faith, called to love, to serve, and to witness together. When we live in unity, we become a visible sign of Christ’s presence in the world.
Our journey is beautifully mirrored in the life of our patroness, St Bernadette Soubirous. In her simplicity, humility, and unwavering faith, she reminds us that God works through the lowly and the faithful. As we prepare to celebrate our Parish Feast Day from 15 to 19 April, may her example inspire us to deepen our trust in God and our commitment to one another.
Let us continue to be a parish that celebrates life, fosters peace, and builds a community of support and understanding. In the joy of the Risen Christ, may we go forth with renewed hearts, proclaiming by our lives that hope is alive.
Alleluia!
Fr Aloysius Ong
